Deborah Joy

Birthday:  October 21, 1968

LIKES: Kids, learning about different cultures and languages, planning and organizing, knitting, Downton Abbey, 1 to 1 conversations that encourage me, curling up by the fireplace with a good book, checking things off my to-do list, my husband who can find everything we lose.

DISLIKES: Telephones, surface conversations, not seeing progress or results, betrayal from fellow believers.

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Finishing my dissertation, getting our family moved and settled, seeing Todd working in his giftedness.

Debbie was born on October 21, 1968 in Phoenix, Arizona. She grew up in a strong Christian family and spent the first four years of her life on the mission field. Her parents served with TEAM in Lima, Peru for four years.  It as at four years of age that Debbie made a decision to follow Christ. At the age of 16 she spent a summer in Kathmandu, Nepal with Teen Missions doing construction work. There the Lord confirmed a desire for career missions. She graduated in 1986 and went to Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University) and double majored in Elementary Education and Bible. During her junior year she was on the pantomime team and fell head over heels in love with the leader, Todd Kramlich.  They got engaged in March of 1990 and married in June of 1991. Debbie also completed her BS in 1990 and was asked to stay on full-time at Columbia and work as the Director of the Academic Development Center. She worked there for three years in this position and also completed her MA in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and Intercultural Studies. Two months after their graduation from seminary, Todd and Debbie arrived in Germany to begin work at Bodenseehof.

They lived 4 years in Germany, and during their last year, Tyler was born.  They moved to Sweden in 1997 when Todd was asked to be the principal of the Torchbearer Bible school in Holsbybrunn.   Since August 2009, Todd and Debbie and their kids have been in Germany.  Debbie is a stay at home mom managing the family and pursuing an EdD part-time.
